A Las Vegas Valley View of the 2020 race between Biden and Trump broken down by voting precinct.

The blue colored precincts are where Biden got 51% or more of the vote. The same for Trump in the red/orange colored precincts. The purple colored precincts were a near 50/50 tie.

Some precincts had few or no votes for either Biden or Trump. This was due to a small population of voters in those precincts.

• QGIS was the Geographic Information System (GIS) software used for this project.
• Microsoft Access and Microsoft Excel were used to prepare the data.
• The Nevada precinct shapefiles were from the U.S. Census Bureau’s 2020 Census Redistricting Data (P.L. 94-171) Shapefiles section on their TIGER/Line Shapefiles page.
• The election information came from Nevada’s Clark County Election Department. Their Past Elections page allows users to select an election, the type of report requested, the contest, and if the results should be in PDF or text file format.
