Personal Background
I am an analyst by profession, and by nature, who has always loved puzzles and research.
Some of my fondest memories from childhood are of spending hours at the library picking through the stacks.
In my teens I built several Heathkit projects and read through Popular Science, Popular Mechanics, and Scientific American.
In my 20’s I was one of the early adopters of the Commodore 64 and IBM PC/XT personal computers. I taught myself BASIC, DOS, and Lotus 1-2-3.
When businesses transitioned from centralized mainframe computers to local workstations I moved into roles that allowed me to learn MS Excel, then MS Access, and eventually SQL. Books and classes were okay, but helping others solve real life problems made for the quickest, easiest, and longest lasting lessons.
New roles and problem solving goals have allowed me to learn SAS Enterprise Guide, SAP Business Objects, Lotus Domino, EDI, VB, VBA, QGIS, and most of the Microsoft suite of products, past and present.
tl;dr: I’m a lifelong research/data nerd that enjoys solving problems and helping others reach their goals.
